I'm thrilled to share that on 7 November 2025, I was officially licenced by Kirklees Council and awarded the highest possible rating for a new dog boarder and day care provider - ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐ Higher Standard.
After a busy summer caring for friends dogs (thank you all for being my wonderful guinea pigs!), I'm so excited to now be open for business and ready to welcome your dogs into The Dog Den family.
At The Dog Den, my mission is simple - to provide a safe, loving and happy home-from-home for your dog. Whether you need day care or overnight boarding, I'll do everything I can to fit around your lifestyle, because I know from experience that not everyone works the standard Monday-Friday 9-5 routine.
My home is full of wagging tails and muddy paws! I share it with Bella my playful German Shepherd and Zara, my gentle and patient Golden Retriever. We have a large garden, access to an enclosed field for off-lead runs and plenty of woodland walks and moorland right on our doorstep. There is always someone around in my family to offer extra cuddles - your dog will be loved and cared for just like one of our own.
I'm currently working towards my Ofqual Level 3 Dog Boarding Qualification and already hold a Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification, which means I can also bathe certain breeds - (dependant on size) and clip claws on request.
I'm fully insured, DBS checked and trained in Canine First Aid.
Over the years I have welcomed and rescued dogs with all sorts of personalities and needs - from separation anxiety and incontinence to caring for an older completely blind Border Collie. Whatever your dogs background I understand that every one of them is unique and deserves patience, kindness and above all plenty of love.
